Service Description
WHO IS THIS WORKSHOP FOR? Advanced dressmakers who would liken to widen their skills into drafting a pattern from scratch. This course is not suitable for Beginners as participants require knowledge on how to construct a garment in order to understand the paper pattern created. WHAT WILL THE WORKSHOP COVER? + How to measure your body and identify the key measurement points to draft a block + Drafting a bodice block to fit your shape + How to manipulate the blocks to create different designs WHAT YOU SHOULD BRING: If you’re unsure on any of the below pieces of equipment, please send us an email to stitcheshuntingdon@gmail.com. + Pattern paper - preferably 1cm squared version + Pattern Cutting curved ruler or French Curve. + Wooden meter ruler + Calculator (can be on your phone or a handheld one doesn’t matter!) + Notebook and pens/pencils + A sewing machine, with its user manual. (If you do not currently own one please let us know on email before booking and we will hire a machine) + Calico cotton fabric WORKSHOP EXTRAS INCLUDE: The supportive, friendly and knowledgeable tutor goes without saying but also available will be: + Use of an overlocker machine if required + An ironing board station. + Hot drinks and an afternoon sweet treat to keep you going.
